We believe the Scriptures -- God's holy Word, the Bible
-- to be the inerrant, infallible and final authority on all matters on which it speaks. We follow the Westminster Confession's definition of Scripture, which states that "everything we need to know about faith, life and salvation is either expressly set down in the Bible or by good and necessary consequence can be deduced from the Bible." On this sure foundation, we affirm that there are certain "essentials" of the faith, while there are also "non-essential" elements. The EPC believes that in the Bible's essential teachings, there should be unity. Whereas, in the areas of non-essential teachings, we feel there should be liberty. The EPC has put together a pamphlet entitled, THE ESSENTIALS. This is available upon request. In addition, the EPC has published several position papers on pertinent cultural issues (e.g., abortion, homosexuality, the Holy Spirit, etc.). These, and other brochures on the EPC, are available upon request. Most importantly, we believe that there is only one true path that leads to eternal life. Jesus Christ declared Himself to be the way. (John 14:6) If you would like to know more about how to begin a personal relationship with Christ, please contact the pastor or one of the elders. |
