We are thankful for those who have so faithfully given of themselves in this ministry. Our prayer is that the music ministry at EPC will always honor and glorify our Lord.
Please pray and consider if the Lord is leading you, or your children, into any of our choirs. Then come and be a part of this ministry that is so vital to our fellowship.
The EPC choir, lead by Mrs. Sarah Joe Strong, was started in 1986. In addition to honoring and glorifying God, the choir ministry helps people learn about and realize how great God is through the songs they sing. At first, there were only two choirs: one for young children, and the other for juniors through adults. Now, EPC choir ministry has expanded to offer singing opportunities for young children, youth, and adults.
The children’s choir, now known as Joyful Sounds, started in September, 1986, and is open to children age four years to sixth grade. Joyful Sounds has traveled to nursing homes to sing for the elderly. The group also usually performs a musical around Easter or Christmas. After the children perform a musical, awards are given to recognize their achievements. Joyful Sounds starts around September and ends around April. Car pools are available to pick up the children at their schools to bring them to choir practice at the church. After choir ends for the children, they still keep in touch by means of choir-organized field trips and other activities.
The youth choir, or Youth Progression, started in 1998, and is for youth from grades 7-12. The Youth Progression is currently made up of eleven youths. The program starts around September and ends around May.
The adult choir is for youths to adults. When it was started, it had around 17 people. It currently contains about 25. The choir sings in church about three Sundays out of the month.
