We were created in the image of God, to enjoy unhindered fellowship with him.  But God did not create us like robots to automatically love and obey him.  Because of our own stubborn self-will, we chose to go our own independent way, and our fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, whether displayed as active defiance toward God or passive indifference to him, is evidence of what the Bible calls sin.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

People sense their estrangement from God and try to mend the separation through works, philosophy, morality, even religion.  They may even find a temporary sense of peace and satisfaction.  In the end, however, our own ways  prove futile.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."
    Proverbs 14:12

There is only one way to reconcile our relationship with God, and God has lovingly and mercifully made it known.  Jesus Christ is the way. He died on the cross and rose from the grave, paying the penalty for our sin and reconciling us to God.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
    Jesus our Lord." Roman 6:23

"God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus,
himself man, is between them to bring them together." 1 Timothy 2:5

"For Christ also has suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He
might bring us to God..." 1 Peter 3:18

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Each of us must respond to this good news.  We must individually receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Only then can we experience God's peace and abundant and eternal life.

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children
of God, even to those who believe in his name." John 1:12

Receiving Christ involves turning from self (repentance), trusting Christ alone  to forgive our sins and giving him our allegiance as Lord of our lives.  It is not enough to intellectually agree that Jesus Christ is God's Son and died on the cross. Nor is an emotional experience a guarantee of salvation. We receive Christ by faith, and he fills us with his Holy Spirit, graciously empowering us to live according to his will.

If this is your desire,
1. Admit your need - Realize you are separated from God because of your sins.
2. Be willing to turn from your sins - Express sorrow for your sins and your firm intention to leave them behind and live a new life, relying on God's grace and mercy.
3. Believe in Jesus Christ - Acknowledge that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross, taking the penalty for your sin, and rose from the grave, bringing you new life in him.
4. Receive Jesus Christ - Open your heart to him and give him your allegiance as your Savior and Lord.

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. Prayer is simply talking with God.  He is not so concerned with the words, but with the attitude of your heart. Pray something like this:

My Father in Heaven,
I know that I am a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe that you sent your son, Jesus to die for my sins. I am deeply sorry for my sins against you want to turn from them. I now receive Jesus Christ, trusting and following him as my Lord and Savior.  Amen.

The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

It is not by accident that you found yourself at this spot in this web-site. This is just the beginning of your new life of faith. To grow as a follower of Jesus Christ and deepen your relationship with God you should:
   1. Read your Bible every day to get to know Christ better.
   2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
   3. Tell others about Christ.
   4. Worship, fellowship and serve with other Christians in a church where
       Christ is preached.
   5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by
your love and concern for others.
