Sunday School class.
“I became a Christian when I was 11 years old after attending Vacation Bible
School with my friend at a church across the street from my house. Through
my teenage years, I became sidetracked, and became even more sidetracked
through my early 20s. When I was 27, I became pregnant with my first
daughter, and was confined to my bed for five months, due to medical
problems. During this time, I began to allow God to be the Lord of my life
as well as my savior. Since then, I have done my best to become closer to
Him. It has taken a while to make me into what I am, and I still have a way
to go, but I feel that I am drawing nearer to God.
“One of the reasons EPC has meant so much to me is because it has given me
the freedom to seek and follow the Lord in my own life. As believers, we are
able to follow Him in whatever direction he has given. There are so many
mission fields in our church, and the opportunities I have had through them
are very uplifting. I am currently involved in the park ministry of our
church, and it has been my wish to teach English to the mothers of the
Hispanic children who come to play at the park. I have always had an
interest in teaching people how to read and speak, and I have found an
opportunity to do so. EPC offers great support and encouragement, which I
have not been able to find elsewhere.” |
