“I was led to the
Lord at age twelve while speaking with a minister who came to my church. I
went through my teens rather casually until my marriage. My husband and I
felt a greater responsibility as Christians as we started a family, and we
were seeking a more personal and deeper relationship with Christ. In the
‘70s there was a lay renewal held at the First Presbyterian church. The
speakers talked about being filled with the holy spirit. I became totally
committed to the lord, and my relationship with him has become deeper and
more meaningful since then. We started going to church regularly, and we
were involved in bible studies, growing in the lord, raising our children in
a Christian home.
“I know that I’m continuing to grow, even though we’ll never be completely
there until the Lord comes. We have a wonderful church family, a pastor who
is committed to the word, and there is a closeness about the church itself.
There are great ministry programs, and I feel like we’re all being lead in
the right direction.
“I am involved in the women’s ministries and bible studies, as well as the
mothers’ day out. The prayer group, of which I am a part, prays for the
service, the pastor, and any church needs for the people, including prayer
requests that they give us." |
